James Lachey Named Central District Defensive Player of the Year

(11-9-16) A familiar last name in Mercer County showed up today in the All Central District D VI Football Team. Grandview Heights' 6'4 230lb Junior Linebacker James Lachey was named Defensive Player of the Year. Lachey is a starting TE when he plays offense for the Bobcats.

Lachey was a first team selection in the Mid State League.

Grandview Heights went 6-4 and missed making the playoffs this year, last season they lost in the State Semifinals to Kirtland 13-9. Kirtland would go on to beat Marion Local 22-20 for the D VI State Title.

Lachey is the son of St. Henry grad Jim, who was an All-American lineman at Ohio State, was a 1st Round NFL Draft (12th overall) pick for the Chargers and would win a Super Bowl ring with Washington. Lachey currently does color on the Buckeyes Football Radio Network.
