Former Celina Coach Has A Tough Week In Arizona

Former Celina and Lima Senior Head Coach Mike Fell took his undefeated Mountain View Toros into a match-up against #1 Arizona ranked Mountain Pointe. The result was not Fell was hoping for, a 56-0 thumping to the Pride. The Toros were outgained 406-90 total yards. The loss drops Mountain View to 3-1 on the season.

Fell told the East Valley Tribune :

“They are an outstanding football team. There wasn’t one battle we won. We got out coached, out played, out hit. We got everything we deserved.

“We stayed in there. The guys were still trying hard. It’s a long year. We know we have a few things we have to do. We’ve talked about being in the chase all year long when it comes to those teams at the top. This shows us tonight how far we have to go.”

The Toros will try and bounce back this Friday when they travel to Phoenix to take on Brophy College Prep.

1991 Ohio High School Regional Championship basketball game. Last second shot by Jill Froning for unranked Celina wins the game over Ohio's #1 rated Pickerington (were also rated in USA Today Top 5)...Celina went on to win the Ohio D1 State Championsip game. Game was played at Bellefontaine HS, Dave Schmidt doing the play-by-by for Celina Cable TV.
